Born from the Market, Built for the Market
The idea for Binoova didn't come from a boardroom. It came from watching a Susu collector in Lagos spend her Saturday morning chasing members for contributions she had already written in a dog-eared notebook — and then having to manually SMS each one to confirm receipt.
We asked: what if the whole thing just worked automatically? What if her clients could pay with their phone, get an instant confirmation, and she could see everything on a dashboard — without Binoova ever touching a naira or dollar?
That question became Binoova.
"The informal economy is not informal because people lack discipline. It's informal because the formal world hasn't built tools for them. We're fixing that."
— Binoova Founding Team
The Problem is Identified
After extensive research with Susu collectors in Lagos, Abuja, and Accra, the founding team maps the manual pain points: cash handling, paper records, missed collections, zero trust scores.
Binoova is Built & Tested
The first version of the Binoova platform launches in private beta in Nigeria, integrating with local mobile money and bank transfer rails. Early operators report a dramatic drop in missed payments.
Nigeria Goes Live. Liberia Launches.
